About Department
The Department of Persian started its journey in the year 1982
with Mr. Hashim Ali as a founder teacher. Dr. Forid Ahmed
Barbhuiya also served the department as a part-time teacher
till 1994.
Sirah Uddin Choudhury joined the department in the year 1995 and served the department till 1999. The Department of Persian was affiliated by Assam University, Silchar in the year 1995 and the department accorded Government Concurrence in the year 2009.
Abdul Salam Barbhuiya joined the department in the year 1999 and got sanctioned in the year 2018.
The department offers a Pass Course for Degree level classes, and Higher Secondary level courses are also offered by the department. The department continues to promote the study of Persian language and literature among students of the College.
