Library Rules & Regulations
Central Library | Lala Rural College
The Central Library of Lala Rural College is committed to providing a peaceful,
disciplined and learner-friendly environment. Every library user is expected to
observe the following rules and regulations to ensure the proper utilization of
library resources and services.
General Rules
📖 Library Membership
- Every student, teacher and staff member should obtain a valid Library Membership.
- Library Identity Card should be produced whenever required.
- Library membership is non-transferable.
- Loss of membership card should be reported immediately.
🤫 Reading Hall Discipline
- Maintain complete silence inside the library.
- Switch mobile phones to silent mode.
- Eating, drinking and smoking are strictly prohibited.
- Maintain proper discipline and decorum.
📚 Borrowing Rules
- Books must be issued before taking them outside the library.
- Borrowers are responsible for the books issued in their names.
- Books should be returned on or before the due date.
- Renewal is subject to library rules and availability.
💰 Fine & Damage
- Overdue fine will be charged as per library rules.
- Loss or damage of books must be reported immediately.
- Borrowers must replace lost books or pay the current replacement cost.
- Writing or marking in library books is strictly prohibited.
💻 Digital Resources
- Library computers should be used only for academic purposes.
- Users should not install any software.
- Access to DELNET and OPAC should be used responsibly.
- Downloading copyrighted material without permission is prohibited.
🖨 Photocopy & Printing
- Photocopying and printing services are available during working hours.
- Users must comply with copyright regulations.
- Charges will be applicable as prescribed by the library.
🏦 Book Bank
- Book Bank facility is available for eligible students.
- Income certificate and other documents may be required.
- Books issued under Book Bank must be returned within the prescribed period.
⚠ General Instructions
- Personal belongings should not be left unattended.
- The library is not responsible for loss of personal items.
- Users should cooperate with library staff.
- The Librarian's decision shall be final in all matters.
Important Notice
Any person violating the library rules, damaging library property, misusing library resources or disturbing the academic environment may be suspended from using library facilities or subjected to disciplinary action as per the rules of Lala Rural College.
