About Department
Established in 1964, the Department of English has been an integral part of
Lala Rural College. Over the years, the department has contributed towards
literary education, intellectual growth and creative development of students.
The department offers Core, Minor, Elective Language and Alternative English courses under the FYUG Programme. It aims to develop understanding of literary history, literary theory, creative expression and critical appreciation of texts.
Through blended learning, academic counselling, mentoring and experiential learning activities, the department promotes holistic development among learners.
