About Department
The Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences is a new
department of Lala Rural College, opened in the year 2024 with
Miss Subhopriya Paul as Guest Faculty.
The department offers opportunities to study our environment as an interdisciplinary course under the FYUG Programme.
Two more faculty members, Dr. Mithun Nath and Mr. Shaibal Deb, are also associated with the department to facilitate seamless delivery of the curriculum.
Besides the FYUG Programme, the department also imparts teaching to students of Higher Secondary classes. Through its interdisciplinary approach, the department seeks to develop environmental awareness, ecological understanding and a sense of responsibility towards the environment among students.
