Overview of the College
Established in 1964, Lala Rural College is one of the premier institutions of higher education in the Barak Valley region of Assam. Situated in the rural town of Lala in Hailakandi district, the college has been dedicated to providing quality, affordable, and inclusive higher education for more than six decades. Initially offering programmes in Arts, the institution has expanded to include Commerce and has adopted the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The college is permanently affiliated to Assam University, Silchar, recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and is accredited by NAAC with Grade 'B' (2nd Cycle).
